Frédéric Chopin was a Polish piano star of the early nineteenth century. The series says he was perhaps the composer most devoted to his instrument, noting that no work of his leaves out the piano and that he performed little else himself. A master of melody, he remains a favourite of pianists and piano audiences.
Chopin’s release was the sixth of twelve, arriving on 25 January 2011 after the Vivaldi album and before the Debussy album. The twelve albums came out between 2 November 2010 and 19 April 2011, typically about two weeks apart.
His “Minute Waltz” is on the 100-track compilation. Each album in the run focuses on a single composer. See all releases on the albums page or return to the home page.
