The series ranks Johann Sebastian Bach as perhaps the most gifted musical mind in history. It adds that he is admired as a composer whose work, whether simple or complex, never fell below a high standard. His deep religious faith led him to regard himself as a channel for divine creativity.
Bach’s release was the fourth of twelve, arriving on 28 December 2010 after the Beethoven album and before the Vivaldi album. The twelve albums came out between 2 November 2010 and 19 April 2011, typically about two weeks apart.
His “Air” appears on the 100-track compilation. Each album in the run focuses on a single composer. See all releases on the albums page or return to the home page.
